Pink Wonder

Good Morning and Happy Pink Saturday!

I went out before sunrise yesterday and found mist in a low lying field of soybeans. It looked like there was almost a slight frosting on some of the plants-absolutely crazy for July in Kansas.
On Thursday I went early up to KU-Kansas University to shoot some pictures. Below is the classic KU skyline. The building with the flags is Frasier Hall and the tower in the middle is the WWII Memorial Campanile Bell Tower. I live just a few blocks from KU and yes indeed we have hills in Kansas(eastern Kansas anyway).

I am not sure what this flower is but I sure fell in love with it. It was out by Clinton Lake-our local recreational lake. Our city is almost up against it now-it was way out when they built it in the late 1980s.

This last one is a Pink Hydranga I found at one of our local Parks-South Park-It is directly south of the downtown area. When I was kid I used to play there everyday as my school was right next to it. Back then there was an old fire engine we could play on. It actually has two sides to it. The playground side west of Mass St., and the Band Stand side west of Mass St.. I spent many a Wednesday night in the summertime listening to band concerts with my mom and my grandmother. I'll share some pics with you next time of the park. It's a lovely place but not a lot of pink.
Take care, and don't forget to go check out Beverly's Pink Saturday Participants at http://howsweetthesound.typepad.com
Thanks for coming by for a visit!

Happy Pink Saturday! What was the old saying "Red Skies at night, Sailor's Delight. Red skies in morning, Sailor's heed warning." I don't know how true it is, but your skies sure look pretty! ~ Robyn

Hi Susan! Another great Pink Saturday post. Love that bright pink flower, it almost looks fake it is so perfect looking. The two colors together are just exquisite. I so love that one. The skys are just beautiful as always and hydrangeas make me think of Moma, as she always has them in her yard too, and they do so well. Some things just do not grow out here in Phoenix. Please stop by and say hi. I would love to have you visit. Country Hugs, Sherry

Beautiful photos! You captured those sky scenes magnificently. The flower you were unsure of sure looks like a hibiscus. Whatever it is, it sure is pretty.

Thanks for the little tour in your spot of the world. Hills in Kansas, really?!

Happy pink to you,
Sue

Great pictures! My dad is from Lindsborg and near there is a place called Coronado, I think, and it is on a hill. So I know there are a few hills there. LOL! Loved that sunset. Sunset pictures are always so pretty. How have you been? I have missed seeing your posts.
